You sold out of a stole I love. Why are quantities limited?
Artisans create each piece by hand. This makes each product quite unique. Sometimes they only make one color or piece and so we offer it to you but may not be able to have more. We also value imperfections as part of the artisan's work. Please sign up for our newsletter and follow us on Instagram for updates on when we update our inventory.

Do you sell wholesale?
Please e-mail us at peacewaremarket@gmail.com if you think Peaceware might be a good fit. Tell us about your shop, your customers, and other brands you carry that you love.

Why do you consider Peaceware to be a market?
Historically, India has conducted trade in open markets or bazaars. Even today, vendors bring their wares to sell at famous spaces. At Peaceware, I wanted to create a similar opportunity for artisans to sell their work. A modern, online trading post !

How do I wash my garments?
All silk, wool and blended fiber products must be dry cleaned. When it comes time for cleaning your cotton fiber products, we recommend washing in cold water either by hand or on the gentlest cycle setting in a machine with gentle, pH-neutral soap. Please note that some natural dyes, especially indigo, will bleed the first few washings, so we recommend washing alone or with like colors. Air dry.

Will my scarf look exactly like the one I saw online?
Because of the nature of our natural dyes and the hand block printing process, color and pattern variations are to be expected and celebrated. This is why we love our products: no two textiles are exactly alike, and each stole has been lovingly and carefully made from start to finish by an entire community of specialized artisans.

Please note that some dyes are slightly stiffer upon receipt, but will soften into the most comfortable, wearable slouch after a wearing or two.
